Diamonds U16s

The Diamonds have had an incredibly successful development programme for many years. In 2006 when rule changes determined that players under the age of 16 were no longer allowed to play with senior players, the Diamonds jumped at the chance to put an U16 team together and have had lots to celebrate since. The team won the U16 Playoff Trophy in 6 different seasons, 2007, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014 as well as winning the U16s North Championship Shield every year between 2006 and 2014.

The team struggled in particular in the 2015 season as they lost a huge group of top players who all made the jump to senior in the same season, but have since regrouped and had a much stronger 2016/17 season, putting some excellent performances together and grabbing some wins.

The U16s were well and truly back on form as they brought back the League Title in 2018, only losing one game all season.

Girls can register to play for the team at 10 years old but we do allow younger girls to train with us to help aid their development.

If you are a girl under 16 years old or have a daughter under 16 who would like to learn to play hockey or already plays hockey and would like to join the Diamonds U16 team please get in touch through our contact page.
