The Kingston Diamonds are a female ice hockey club in Hull, UK, operating out of the Hull Arena. We cater for all ages and abilities with teams at Elite, Premier and U16 level and we welcome newcomers regularly.
The Diamonds have been in existence
since 1990 (originally known as the
Humberside Diamonds Ice Hockey
club) and are proud to be one of the
longest established team in the Hull
Arena and the only female ice hockey
team in East Yorkshire. Over the
years we have produced many
players that have gone on to
represent their country with the
England and Great Britain teams as
well as putting together competitive
domestic teams each season.
Head coach Tim Healand has been
running the club since its formation and is ably assisted on the ice by assistant coaches Mike Soper and Steve Hughes, and Pam Hughes as manager keeps them all on the straight and narrow! The youngest player to play in a Diamonds shirt is just 10 years old while the oldest is 50 and the clubs aim is to promote the sport of ice hockey to all females within the Humber region and further afield. Through the medium of ice hockey members gain confidence, greater self-esteem and social skills that may be applied to daily life in addition to learning the skills needed to play such a physically and mentally demanding sport.
